LID

We finally have our Log-In-Date! 01/29/08. This is a big step in the process. We’ve officially started the wait for our daughter. We’re still not sure how long it will actually take. We’re being optimistic in

Diving in Hawaii

When we were in Kona, HI, we did a most excellent night dive with a wild Manta Ray (you can read more about it here). Our friend, Maryjane, took some video. I’ve posted

Skiing

Jamie and I went to Monarch a couple times this year. Great ski area… always great snow. Here’s a quick video

One step closer

Two weeks ago we finally received our I171-H. We promptly got a copy of it notarized and sent it off to the Colorado Secretary of State. That didn’t take too long. Last week we received it and sent it off to the Chinese Consulate in Chicago. Hopefully we’ll get it back this week or next.

Thanksgiving

Jamie and I flew to Long Island to spend Thanksgiving with my family. We had a great trip, albeit a short one. We flew in on Wednesday and out on Saturday. Since I started my new job I don’t have any time off… we were sad we couldn’t stay longer.

Quick Update

Jobs I found a job. That’s a huge load off of my mind. The timing was perfect. They actually wanted me to start on Monday but I wanted more time off. I start at LSI on the 12th. I’m excited about the new job. It sounds pretty interesting… hopefully it will live up to my expectations! The funny thing is that my new employer is directly across the street from my old one.

Hawaii, Part Deux

A few weeks ago we were fortunate enough to go back to Hawaii for the 2nd time this year. I wasn’t too expensive since we split most of the costs three ways. Of course, had I known I might get laid off we never would have went. Anyway, we had a great time! We got a lot of diving in. The coolest part was the night Manta Ray dive. That was fantastic.

The Knack

Classic Dilbert…

Got Work?

I found out this morning that I’ll be “participating in Agilent’s Work Force Management program”. Sounds like fun! I guess it’s kinda fun. They give you some money… but they take away your job. Oh well. The really great thing is that my severance package will pay for the adoption! Sweet! Assuming, of course, I get a job pretty soon. Oh ya… Jamie and I also got back from Hawaii yesterday afternoon.

Adoption Update

Just a quick update on where we are in regards to the adoption. Most of our paperwork has been notarized and certified by the Secretary of State. They still have to go on to the Chinese Consulate to get authenticated. We’re waiting on that because we still need one more piece of paper from immigration: the I 171-H. This is the grand-daddy piece of paper from the US. The “one paper to rule them all”, so to speak.
