Jamie's Birthday Party

This year, Jamie wanted to celebrate her birthday with a party. We had a party last weekend.

Tim's New Ride

Well, it was time. My 2000 XTerra had 135,000 miles on it. We were at the point where we would either spend a couple thousand dollars fixing it up or getting something different. I opted for the latter! I had been planning my replacement vehicle for a while. Crossovers fit many of our criteria (size and fuel economy being our biggest). The “compact” crossovers are very competitive. Out of all them, the Nissan Rogue stands out above the rest.

Internet Explorer vs Mozilla Firefox

A while back I happened to use IE6.0 to view this site. I was a bit disappointed. It kinda looks like crap. At first I was going to look into changing the WordPress theme. Then I got really lazy, and now, it’s a matter of principle. The site looks great in Firefox. Therefore, screw Microsoft. Besides, no one should be using IE unless they absolutely have to. The good news is that this site looks fine in Internet Explorer 7.0.

July 4th in Austin Texas

Last week we made our annual pilgrimage to Austin, TX, to visit our good friends The Mackey’s. As always, we had a great time! We spent a whole lotta time eating BBQ and swimming in the pool. Jamie’s highlight is when we rented a boat on Lake Travis. It was actually a lot of fun. Mostly because with the boat rental we rented a driver. That was great. He knew all about the lake and all about driving boats ( we’ve had… issues… in the past ).

Where are your intelligences?

There’s an educational theory involving how we learn. It’s called “Multiple Intelligences.”

The theory is that if you know how you are intelligent you can change your learning habits accordingly. It’s interesting, I suppose.

Phill & Autumn in Colorado

Jamie and I had the pleasure of hosting our friends from Phoenix for a day or so. We had a great time. I don’t think Jamie drove them too hard. They seemed to have fun!

Adoption Wait Time

Here’s a sad truth. It takes a really, really, long time to adopt a child from China. Below is a graph that I’ve compiled with data from our adoption agency, CCAI. It graphs the number of months that couples have waited for their child from January 07 to May 08.

Quick Wedding Preview

This past weekend Jamie and I traveled to Ft. Dodge, IA, to celebrate her dad getting married to Sharon.

We’ll be posting pictures soon, but I just wanted to get this little gem up.

Mexico - 2008

A couple weeks ago Jamie and I went to Mexico for spring break. We had a blast!

Our trip to Arizona

Back in January we headed to the Phoenix area to visit friends and family.
