Christmas 2012

Jamie and I traveled to Fort Dodge, IA, for Christmas this year. It was great to spend time with Jamie’s family, as we’ve been spending Christmas with Tim’s family in recent years.

Jodie and Nico joined us in Iowa. We’ve actually spent Christmas for the last few years with Jodie and Nico. It’s almost a tradition (besides watching Elf)!

Christmas day we started a new tradition… movies! The 6 of us couldn’t decide on a single movie, so we split up. Jim and Sharon saw Lincoln, Jamie and Jodie saw Les Miserables, and Nico and I saw The Hobbit. I really liked The Hobbit. True Tolkien-ites may have a problem with Peter Jackson’s adaptation, but I liked it nonetheless.

The only bad thing about the trip was the cold! Man… Iowa was cold. The humidity chilled us to the bone. Daisy didn’t seem to mind, so that’s good. It also snowed the night before we left. That made the roads rather treacherous all the way to Omaha, NE.

We also visited with Jamie’s grandparents on the way home. It was nice to see them both in good spirits.
