Mt. Princeton

We bagged another 14er this year. This time it was Mount Princeton, which sits at 14,197’. It’s right near our house in Buena Vista. That’s nice because we didn’t have to drive a long way to get to it, or have a long drive after hiking it.

It was definitely not my favorite 14er. I’d say about 70% of the hike is on talus. Of that 70%, probably 40% was scary talus. When you weren’t on talus, you were on treacherous dirt (really steep and slick). In spite of all that, we hiked 8 miles and summitted in a little over 6 hours. Not too bad for a fat guy.

This was Daisy’s first 14er ever. She did great! She was way more chipper at the end than we were. Of course, she slept for a couple of days after (lucky!).
