Mt. Harvard

On July 18, Jamie and I hiked another 14’er. We were talking with our good friends, Mike and Katie, who decided they wanted to do one to. It was Mike’s second 14’er, technically, but he didn’t summit the first time.

Now, Mike’s not a hiker. In fact, he hates hiking. He’d rather be skate boarding, fishing, etc. Being the nice friends that we are, we let him choose which 14’er to do. That didn’t turn out like we had hoped. Mike chose Mt. Harvard. Mt. Harvard, by the normal route, it 13.5 miles round trip. That’s big. That’s gigantic! It was his choice though (even after we told him how hard it would be).

Anyway, we averaged about 5 hours to summit and 4 hours to get back to the car. Jamie killed it! Katie and I came it second, and Mike brought up the rear.

We had an awesome time. We’re all very proud of Mike for bagging his first 14’er. There was even some talk about doing an easier one next time! We figured he’d swear off doing 14’ers.

Gali did incredible, as always. He’s 9 and a half but still acts like a puppy. At least, while he’s hiking. He was pretty sore for the next few days; poor thing.
