Hawaii, Part Deux
27/Oct 2007
A few weeks ago we were fortunate enough to go back to Hawaii for the 2nd time this year. I wasn’t too expensive since we split most of the costs three ways. Of course, had I known I might get laid off we never would have went.
Anyway, we had a great time! We got a lot of diving in. The coolest part was the night Manta Ray dive. That was fantastic. I’ll post video at some point as the other couple we went will took some footage. It was a great experience.
We hung out at the house a bunch. It had a nice big pool. We also did our fair share of sight seeing and traveling to a couple different beaches. The black sand beach we went to was riddled with sea turtles. Jamie and I found another awesome beach another day. It was there that I lost my prescription sunglass. Oh well…Walmart served me well.
Here’s a list of stuff we did ( mostly for our sake ):
- Lodging: Komohana Kai; Nice 4BR/3BA house w/ pool… needs AC though
- Scuba Diving: Kona Honu Divers; Awesome crew
- Sights: Waikoloa Petroglyph Preserve; Interesting, worth it if you’re in the area
- Dining: Merriman’s Market Cafe;Quite possibly the best fillet mignon I’ve ever had
- Beaches
- Punalu’u Black Sand Beach Park; tons of sea turtles, cool black sand
- Hapuna Beach State Park; really really nice beach, very little shade
