2005 Holiday Season

Well, we’ve had a busy holiday season!

For Christmas, we drove down to Apache Junction to visit with Jamie’s Dad and his girlfriend. Jim bought a trailer home with plenty of room for him and his horses. Apache Junction is an interesting place. It’s population is unbelievebly old white people, heh. It’s a cool place if you ever get the chance to visit. Although you might not want to believe someone if they tell you everyplace has a fish special every Wednesday night. shrugs

We also got to see our friends Phill and Autmumn. They live in Phoenix. We hiked (or walked) around AJ one day and spent some more time with them in Phoenix. We only get to see them once a year because they have been “planning on coming out to Colorado” for years now.

The weather was great. Oddly enough, we didn’t get snow. The temperature stayed in the 70’s during the day. We even hit 76 degrees on Christmas Day! It wasn’t much different than Colorado Springs where it was in the mid 60’s, but it was still nice.

For New Years we drove down to Salida, Colorado. It’s a great town. We started off New Year’s Eve with a trip to Monarch Ski Area. There was a torch-light thing were about 30 people ski’d down the mountian in the dark with torches. It was pretty lame. However, Monarch made up for it with an incredible fireworks show. It really was amazing.

After the festivites at Monarch, we had diner at the Twisted Cork Cafe. If you ever get the chance, stop in for a meal if you’re in Salida.

We ended the evening by watching “Walmart: The High Cost Of Low Price”. Wow… I’ve been against Walmart for a while, and now I know why. If you watch this film, and you should, you will probably stop shopping at Walmart/Sam’s Club, and you should. It’s really sad what Walmart is doing to us. It’s horrible in fact.

We don’t have too many pictures, but I’ll probably post some later on.

On that happy note, we hope everyone had a great holiday and wish you all the best in 2006.
