Spring Break, 2005

Jamie and I spent last week relaxing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, at the RIU. It was a very nice end to my Master's Degree. ATMEL shut down for the week and Jamie had spring break, so we had to take advantage of it while we could! I actually missed the last week of classes for me, but it wasn't a very big deal.

Puerto Vallarta was beautiful. We actually stayed in the all-inclusive RIU which was located in Nuevo Vallarta, a smaller town NE of Puerto Vallarta. It's really just a bunch of hotels. A few times we took the local bus into town (Puerto, or PV as the locals call it). That was an interesting experience. At $1.50 per person it sure beat a $20 cab ride!

We spent most of our time on the beach (I was trying to do as little as possible!). Besides our trips to PV, we went on two excursions. The first one was the "El Eden Canopy Tour". This consisted of about twelve zip lines high above the jungle floor. It was pretty fun. After we were done Jamie swung on the Tarzan rope and jumped into the river. Little did she know, the river had leeches. They were tiny though ;). The second tour was very cool. It was called "Rhythms Of The Night". It started with a sunset cruise (on a small boat) to a bay. The bay was lit up with torches and candle-light. After dinner on the beach we were treated to a very cool show. We didn't get any pictures, but you can see some here.

I'm just glad to be out of school, and I am looking forward too (somewhat) a job search. I'm not sure if I will stay with my current company or night. I'm not really motivated to leave, so I'll have plenty of time to find something else. Of course, those student loans are going to start up (ugh).

You can find the pictures from our trip here.
